 Sky
Wonder is one of the ships, really well known in the cruise history
of the world. The ship is part from the fleet of Pullmantur Cruises,
some of the best developing companies in Europe and till some years
daughter company of Royal Caribbean Cruises. Sky Wonder was built
in 1984 from the famous ship-builder Chantiers de Nord et de la
Mediterranee of La Seyne-Sur Mer in France. This is really high
qualited ship-yard, which is producing some of the best known cruise
ships of the world. The ship Sky Wonder was previously owned by
company Sitmar, which actually ordered this sailing ship. The history
of the vessel is pretty long, and finished in the hand of Pullmantur,
and sailing around the shores of Europe and offering really amazing
cruises
on pretty low price. The ship has length of 240 meters or about
787 feet. The beam of the cruise vessel is 29.8 meters or 97 feet
and the draft of Sky Wonder is 8 meters, which is equals to 26 feet.
The ship is not so large, but has 11 passenger decks, which are
giving a capacity of 1550 passengers. This is pretty low number
of guests for vessel with such measurements, and this is the best
advantage of this vessel. The ship is offering large public places
and many entertainments. The total number of the crew on board is
600 members, who are serving the passengers and creating really
nice atmosphere for all guests. The vessel is really well known,
as I already said, with one fact, because this ship is one of the
last steam turbine ships built in the world. This fact is enough
for the people on board to feel their cruise really unique. The
maximum power of the main engine of Sky Wonder 29,500 horse powers,
and this is enough for the ship to realize maximum speed of 21.5
knots. The cruising speed of the
vessel is much lower – 19.8 knots. The ship is interesting,
because she is carrying the atmosphere of one old century and ship
model is a little bit forgotten in newly innovative engines and
entertainments. The deadweight of the vessel is 46,087 metric tons
and believe me this ship is not so small.
When describing such cruise ship, the first word,
which should be mentioned is cheap. The vessel is making cruises
around Europe, mostly Spain and Portugal coast to much low price,
which is attractive for all kind of tourists. The ship has 2 restaurants,
2 pools and a lot of bars, cafes, pubs, disko-clubs and lounges.
You will really find your place on board of this cruise ship. The
fitness hall and spa center are compulsory for each cruise ship,
and Sky Wonder is not missing them. Also the outside parks are making
the atmosphere really pleasant. Also we should not miss, that together
with cheap rooms, there are much luxury VIP rooms with verandahs
and large living area. The ship is combining everything, which you
may require from one cruise. And this is the place for your beautiful
vacation. You will visit nice places and will spend a little time
at sea, where the life is much different than regular resorts.
