 The
vessel Aquamarine ACE is the newest vessel of the company Mitsui
O.S.K Lines, Ltd. (MOL). The vessel was built in the Kobe Shipyard
& Machinery Works on March 21, 2008 by the ship-builder Mitsubishi
Heavy Industries, Ltd. Aquamarine ACE has a length of 192.00m and
beam of 32.26 meters. The draught of the vessel is 34.52 and the
Gross tonnage is 60,143 metric tons. Aquamarine ACE is one of the
most modern and most beautiful car and vehicle carriers of the world.
The vessel has a capacity for 6,400 units and the main engine of
the ship is pretty strong to give the vessel power to reach the
speed of 20.65 knots. The main engine is Mitsubishi-UE 7UEC60LSII.
This is very useful and strong main engine, which is produced from
high qualitied company for engine building Mitsubishi.
And
when we are talking about new and modern vessel we should know about
the special features of Aquamarine ACE. The vessel has the features
of streamlined superstructure to reduce wind pressure, energy-saving
and marine environmental-concerned measures, etc. This is making
the ship from the new generation and new style. And if we are talking
about ships, everything is business and on the vessel Aquamarine
ACE the expenses for a day at sea are reduced with 19% than the
same vessels with the same capacity from the old generation.  Also
staying in ports is reduced to minimum and loading is made by new
procedure with less time, faster and more secure. The loading of
the ship can be done by 3 different and independent points. This
reduces the time and increase the loading capacity of the vessel.
Every car deck can accommodate high-roof vehicles. The jumping slopes
are introduced to directly connect upper decks with lower decks
to facilitate car-handling work. Also the shape of the vessel under
the water line is very slim and allows to Aquamarine ACE to have
a streamlined form, which reduced the water resistance and increase
the speed of the vessel. Also from the ship-builder had tried to
reduce consumption of lub oil by the new injection method for inserting
lub oil into the main engine cylinder. And together with all these
features the Mitsubishi main engine gives enough power in lower
consumption of fuel. The fuel consumption of this car carrier is
reduced with nearly 9%, which gives large profits for the company
owning this vessel. Definitely
