     BW Broker

BW Broker  BW Broker is LPG carrier property of Fair Wind Navigation S.A. The cargo ship is quite interesting in designer point of view, because the hull shape is innovatively designed to be safety, environmental and fast. The BW Broker has overall length of 226.00 meters, but the length between perpendiculars is 222.00 meters. The beam of the LPG Carrier is 37.20 meters and the depth of the board is 21.00 meters. When the vessel is fully loaded the draft reaches maximum size of 11.20 meters. The ship has deadweight of 53,293 metric tons and the gross tonnage of 45,805 gross tons. The ship BW Broker has cargo capacity of 80,126 cubic meters. The ships from the class are really dangerous, not as much as LNG Carriers, but also have high restrictions and very strong requirements for ships’ safety. That is why it is quite hard to introduce some innovations in such cargo ships. The builders of Kawasaki Shipbuilding Corporation broke all the rules are created one very modern and very high quality vessel in the Sakaide shipyard. The BW Broker shipmain engine of the vessel is Kawasaki-MAN B&W 7S60MC-C with total power of 14,000 kW at 94rpm. This engine provides enough power to drive the vessel with cruising speed of 17.0 knots. The innovations of the design of the bow, reduce the water resistance and provide more power with low fuel consumption. The bow designed is called from the ship-builder Kawasaki SEAARROW, which describes the shape of the bow - Sharp Entrance Angle bow as an Arrow. In the same time system reduces the CO2 emissions dropped in the air from the vessel. The system is making the ship eco-friendly and environmental.

During operation the ship is safety, but even the smallest spillage of the cargo may cause ecological disaster. This is the main reason the IMO to have high restrictions for such ships. The double hull construction is keeping the cargo away from the water even in damages of the tank coverage. The ship has four cargo tanks separated each other to allow the vessel to carry 4 different types of cargo. The tanks are created from special steel, durable to very low temperature of minus 46 degrees of Celsius. The system for cargo handling and cargo operations are decreasing the time for loading and discharging and also decrease the time for staying in port of the vessel.
