The
largest ship from the fleet of Ahrenkiel Chemicals definitely is
Bow Omaria. The vessel is with deadweight of 19,980 tdw. The vessel
was built in the year of 2007 in the ship-yard of Usuki Shipyard
Co. Ltd. in Japan. The time
for building this ship was not more than 9 months, but it is really
a good pearl in the fleet of Ahrenkiel. The vessel is with Gross
Tonnage of 11,561 metric tons and Net Tonnage of 6,052 metric tons.
The lenght of Bow Omaria is 145.53 m and the beam is 23.73 m. The
cargo ship is nice and as much of the chemical tankers is smaller
than other ships but very complexive engineer outfit. Bow Omaria
has a draft of 9.67 m, which makes the vessel very maneuverable
and very good for sailing. The maximum speed is about 15 knots ,
while the crossing one is 14 knots. The main engine of Bow Omaria
is MAN B&W 6S42MC, MCR with power of 6,150 kW at 136 rpm. This
is one new generation in building of cargo ships, so the fuel is
RMG 380 heavy fuel oil. This fuel is giving much power to the ship
with less rpm, which is making the process of sailing more optimised
and cheaper for the ship-owner. But the main engine is not enought
for the hard and dangerous process of using the ship, so Bow Omaria
is equpped with three auxilary diesel generators Yanmar 6N18AL-SV
with power of 500 kW each at 900 rpm. But for better maneuverability
the ship has bow thruster with power of 616 kW, which is giving
to the vessel a maximum speed of 15 knots
The cargo capacity
of the ship is 22,500 cubic meters. The cargo can be devided into
0 tanks, which means that the vessel can carry 20 different cargoes.
The devision between the tanks is Stainless steel, which is giving
enought defence from the different tanks. date: 23rd March, 2008
