Bow
Orania is one of the newly built chemical tankers from the fleet
of Ahrenkiel. The chemical tanker is among the largest in the company
and has deadweight of 19,993 metric tons. The ship is pretty large
for parcel tanker and the gross tonnage of the ship is 11,561 GT.
The vessel Bow Orania has net tonnage of 6,052 NT, which can show
you easily about the measurement of this vessel. The length of the
chemical tanker is 145.53 meters and the beam is 23.73 meters. Bow
Orania has 5 more sisterships - Bow Olivia, Bow Ophelia, Bow Octavia,
Bow Omaria and Bow Orelia. The ships are from the newest order to
Usuki Shipyard Co. Ltd. in Japan. The ship Bow Orania is fantastic
with high quality and very good and modern equipment. The vessel
has draft of 9.67 meters. With these measurements the vessel has
a cargo capacity for 22,500 cubic meters divided into 20 cargo tanks
built from stainless steel. The size of each cargo tank is pretty
large, in comparison with smaller ships from the same ship-owner.
The main engine of the ship is MAN B&W 6S42MC with full power
of 6,150 kW at 136 rpm. The main engine is low revolution and high
reliable for not so high speed, but very economy in fuel and luboil
consumption. The heavy fuel oil is HFO RMG 380, which is from middle
quality and very often used on board of the ships of Ahrenkiel.
Bow Orania has 3 auxiliary diesel generators Yanmar 6N18AL-SV with
power of 500 kW each at 900 rpm. And these diesel generators are
used mostly in regime of maneuvering and cargo operations, when
the main engine is not so efficient, or do not have enough power.
On board of Bow Orania there is a bow thruster with power of 616
kW, which is providing easy maneuvering into ports and in chanels.
On board of Bow Orania you will be able to see
all the new and modern equipment, which is used on board of chemical
tankers. The new and improved programs for cargo operations are
installed in the cargo room. Now the time for loading and discharging
is reduced to minimum and staying into port is with nearly 5% less.
Of course, on such vessel not all time from staying into port is
cargo operations because there is long procdure for discharging
cargo and visits of surveyors and chemical analyse of the cargo,
which time cannot be avoided, but loading is pretty faster. Also
the cargo pumps are with higher rate, and discharging of the cargo
is faster. At all Japan is very high quality ship-yard and chemical
tankers built there are very modern. The ship is ceritifed by Germanisher
Lloyd Register, IMO and the flag of the vessel is Philippines. The
vessel is registered under IMO number 9340427 ad the call sign of
Bow Orania is DYOE. date: 5th October, 2008
