Coral
Emerald is the newest bulk carrier from the fleet of Picer Marine
S.A.. The ship has deadweight of 75,632 metric tons and from the
group of Panamax bulk carrier. The ship has a length of 225 meters,
a beam of 32.26 meters and a draft of 14.00 meters. These measurements
can carry gross tonnage of bulk cargo of 38,893 metric tons. Coral
Emerald has a cargo holds capacity for 89,201 cubic meters.
The ship is the newly built by Sanoyas Hishino Meisho Corp. into
the ship-yard of Mizushima Works. The vessel is the 69th of the
series of Sanoyas Panamax and the 43rd of the 75,500 metric tons
type, with largest permitted beam to pass through Panama Chanel.
This is very important for every ship-owner that will operate with
this vessel. Passing through Panama Chanel reduce the outcomes of
the ship-owner with more than 20% per voyage, just with avoiding
the longer route under the South America.
The
bulk carrier Coral Emerald has 7 cargo holds for bulk cargo. All
the holds are with hopper bottom for more efficient loading. This
increases the loading and discharging speed with more than 5%, which
for bulk carrier is very useful and important. The engine room is
located aft, just tike to the most of the modern merchant vessels.
That engine of Coral Emerald is MAN B&W 7S50MC-C. The main engine
is low speed, long stroke and 2-cylesThe average cruising speed
of the vessel is about 14.5 knots, too high speed for bulk carrier,
but very useful, when we are talking about decreasing of outcomes
and times for delivery. The hatch covers are of the type - side
rolling, driven by electro hydraulic motor and chains. That helps
for the vessel to open and close very secure and fast the hatches,
and even in forecast of raining the vessel is loading or discharging
till the rain starts. The ship is well optimized for reducing outcomes
and expenses about voyages, and also reduced the CO2 emissions into
the air. This is new generation vessel built in May 2007, and carries
all ecological certificates, because the ship should not only be
a profitable machine, but also to prevent pollution in the air and
water.
