Today
I started the theme about Maersk vessels and Ebba Maersk is one
of the largest Maersk ships, and also some of the largest containers
of the world fleet. The ship is a sister-ship of the giant Emma
Maersk, but only a little bit lower measurements are giving lower
place in the table of the world’s container giants. Ebba Maersk
has a length of 397.00 meters and a beam of 56.00 meters. The vessel
is very large and the depth is 30.00 meters. These large measurements
are giving to the container ship Ebba Maersk deadweight of 156,907
metric tons. The capacity of the vessel is 11,000 TEU according
to the calculation from the ship-owner and ship operator. The International
Maritime Organization is giving a higher capacity for the vessel,
of about 13,500 containers. The difference in calculations is comming
from
the center of weight and and the way of stowing the cargo.
From Mearsk Line are stowing the cargo in the different way than
IMO are suggesting. The containers are divided into 22 rows wide.
The container vessel Ebba Maersk is also very reliable and profitable
for the ship-owner. The ecological features and introduced in building
this vessel. The main engine is Wartisla with full power of 90,000
kW. It is specially designed for this vessel, to give high power
with lower revolutions. The vessel is created to use the waste heat
recovery to optimise the energy produces.
The ship Ebba Maersk is very interesting with some innovations
intoduced into building and designing. The new ecological and environmental
paint is used to coved the steel. The paint is decreasing the water
resistance, which decrease the fuel consumption with more than
1,200 tons per year. That is not only increasing profits of the
ship-owner but also decrease air polution. That is talking good
for this vessel. The ship is certified by IMO, Germanisher Lloyd
and Danish Maritime Organization. The vessel Ebba Maersk is registered
in Copenhagen, Denmark. The vessel is registered in IMo by number
9321524. The vessel was built in Odense Shipyard in 2007 and this
ship is among the largest and most beautiful cargo ships of the
world. date: 17th September, 2008
