The
LNG Carier Kakurei Maru is one of the newest vessel built in this
class of ships. The vessel was finished by Kawasaki Shipbuilding
on 27th November 2008 and delivered to the ship-owner Tsurumi Sunmarine
Co., Ltd. the ship has overal length of 86.29 meters, while length
between perpendiculars is 80.30 meters. The beam of the vessel is
15.10 meters and the depth is 7.00 meters. The ship has deadweight
of 1,801 metric tons. The ship's gross tonnage is 2,952 gross tons
with cargo capacity of 2,512 cubic meters and while Kakurei Maru
is fully loaded, she reaches draft of 4.30 meters. The main engine
of the ship is
Hanshin Diesel LH38L, which is giving to the vessel power of 2,059
kW at 240 rpm. This is allowing of the ship about 13.0 knots cruising
speed, while the maximum one is 13.6 knots. The ships from this
class are well known, as dangerous and flamable. So the restrictions
for ship-building of such ships are high and requirements for safety
are also high.
The ship Kakurei Maru was built as coastal LNG carrier
type developed for convenient short distance transport. The ship
has two cargo tanks with cylindrical shape with total cargo capacity
of 2,512 cubic meters. These two tanks are separate each other and
with the heat insulation system installed. Such technology is used
on many LNG Carrier, due to danger of transportaion of the cargo
and avoiding mixing of different type of cargo. The tank hovers
are created from materials
used as shild to prevent increasing the temperature in the cargo
holds. The double hull tanks are avoiding leakage and protecting
the vessel from explosion and fire. Kakurei Maru is designed with
latest technology and very high-qualited materials. All safery requirements
are doubled, so that restrictions about hiringship officers are
also high. The vessel is very dangerous, but from the builders and
auditors promised that the quality of the LNG Carrier Kakurei Maru
is very high.
