Millennium
Park is one more chemical tanker of the company Zodiac Maritime
Agencies Ltd in London. The ship is quite modern and built in 2008.
The cargo ship is one of the largest for the company in this class
and has amazing measurements and systems for preventing of water
and air pollution. The requirements of SOLAS and MARPOL and quite
high for this type of ships, but we can tell that Millennium Park
is covering all of them. Really this is one very beautiful and quite
interesting chemical tanker designed to carry some of the most dangerous
cargoes of the world. The cargo ship Millennium Park has overall
length of 145.50 meters, while the length between perpendiculars
is 142.30 meters. The moulded beam of the vessel is 23.70 meters
and the depth is 13.35 meters. When the ship is fully loaded the
summer draft can reach 9.72 meters. Really we can see the large
measurements of the ship and can compare it easily with the other
chemical tankers, because it is quite rarely met so large ships.
Millennium Park has summer deadweight of 19,998 metric tons and
the gross tonnage of 11,590 gross tons. The net tonnage of the ship
is 6,119 net tons and the TPC is 28.770 tons. The last measurement
is quite important for loading and discharging of the ship. This
value shows the how many tons should be loaded or discharged from
the ship to change the draft with one centimeter. The cargo officers
on board are calculating the draft according to entrance in the
port of discharging or leading the port of loading. In all cases
this is one of the most important values in ship’s construction.
Millennium Park chemical tanker has displacement of 25,308 metric
tons and the light ship weight is 5309 metric tons. The ship has
22 cargo tanks divided into starboard and port tanks (11 on each
side), which has total capacity of 22,177 cubic meters. The distance
between the bow and center of the manifolds is 74.29 meters. The
manifolds are the place where the ship is loaded and discharged
from. They are allowing for the ship to carry 22 different cargoes
with different transfers from the manifolds. It is quite important
for chemical ships to be constructed like that.
The main engine of the vessel is MAN B&W providing
enough power for the ship to reach service speed of 15.0 knots.
The fuel consumption with this speed is 25.30 tons of heavy fuel
and 0.35 tons of diesel oil per hour. date: 29th December, 2009
