Orient
Dream is absolutely new designed bulk carrier of the company Silver
Star Ship Line. The vessel is among middle-size ships of the world
shipping, but in spite of this is one of the largest for the ship-owner.
The overal length of Orient Dream is 175.53 meters, while the length
between perpendiculars is 167.00 meters. The second dimension is
important in calculating ship's stability and ship's maneuverability.
The beam of the vessel is 29.40 meters, the depth is 13.70 meters
and the draft is 9.65 meters, when the ship is fully loaded. the
bulk carrier Orient Dream has deadweight of 32,160 metric tons and
gross tonnage of 19,828 metric tons. This ship has reliable and
strong main engine Mitsubishi 6UEC45LSE, which has output power
of 6,840 kW at 129 rpm, which is equals to 9,300 hp. The new and
modern bulk carrier was built in the ship-yard of Hakodate Dock
and finished in November 2008.
The ship is from the type of Super Handy 32 bulk carrier, which
is exactly intermediate size Handymax and Handy size. the ship is
pretty large and for small ship-owner like Silver Star Ship Line
is really important addition.
The ship is designed to have maximum cargo capacity
with this size and also to have large stability, without water ballast,
while the ship is fully loaded. This allows large capacity of cargo
and good maneuverability and stability of the ship. the vessel has
wide breadth and shallow draft for this deadweight in comparison
with other same size vessels. Actually the fuel consumption is decreased
to minimum and expences are also reduced. The ship is also modern
and qualited in latest requirements of SOLAS and IMO. Also Orient
Dream can visit large number of ports and has almost no restriction
calling at various harbors. Also the cargo holds are designed with
the ability for automatical discharging, which will decrease time
for staying in the ports. The vessel has 5 cargo tanks, which can
carry different cargo in bulk. All cargo holds are double hulled
for preventing ship's destroying and water polution. date: 6th April, 2009
