Rigoletto  Motor vessel Rigoletto is one of middle size car carrier. The vessel is property of the large and famous company for ship-owning Wallenius Lines and is sailing under the flag of Sweden. This is very good advertising for the vessel and for the company, because we all know that Sweden requirements are very hard and only high rated and very good vessels can sail under such flag. The vessel Rigoletto has a capacity for 4,600 cars or capacity for 2,460 cars and 360 trucks. This car carrier has a length of 190.00 meters, a beam of 32.20 meters and draft of 9.2 meters. The deadweight of motor vessel Rigoletto is 17,197 metric tons and the gross tonnage of the ship is 43,487 gross tons. The net tonnage of the vessel is 22,539 net tons. The ship is very good looking and very profitable for the ship-owner. Motor vessel Rigoletto was built by the shipbuilder Hitatchi Innoshima in Japan. The vessel is pretty old, and the year of building is 1977, but the quality of Japanese ship-yard is very good and you can see that this ship is in great condition and covers all necessary requirements of IMO and Swedish Maritime Administration. The car carrier Rigoletto has a main engine from old generation, and the model is Hitatchi SULZER 6RND 90 with Rigoletto Bridgefull power of 12,800 kW. The vessel has 12 cargo decks, from which one is hoistable.
  
 The vessel is pretty modern and good for the years of building. We should not forget the Rigoletto was built in the late year 1977 and then the standarts and requirements were different than today. Also the idea of developing of machines in the year 1977 was much different and that reflected most to old vessels to be much different and almost inapplicable today. The profits, which one vessel from 1977 brings to the ship-owner are less than the one, which one new vessel will give. That is why many of the good known ship-owners prefer to use newly built vessels, with lower restrictions in port entering and lower costs per day at sea. But most of all the problems are with optimization of the cargo holds and decks. The vessel Rigoletto has only 1 hoistable ramp, which is a great problem of old vessel and increase the time for loading. In fact the loading and discharging can be done by the stern ramp, which is 3.90 meters width, 4.40 meters height and has a capacity for 50 tons. You can imagine about the speed of loading, but that is not a big problem for this ship, because of not so large measurements and not so large number of cars, which can be carried. This is the motor vessel Rigoletto, which we tried to introduce in front of you. That is one ship with long history, many voyages and interesting design, which turns us back to the past.
