 The
largest chemical parcel tanker of the famous company Stolt Nielsen
is m/t Stolt Sagaland. The vessel has deadweight of 44,044 metric
tons, and is not only the largest, but also the most modern and
newest tanker from the fleet of the Norwegian ship-owner. The chemical
Tanker Stolt Sagaland is registered under the flag of Cayman Islands
and was built in 2008 in the ship-yard of Aker and the vessel is
the first from all 6 ordered sister-ships. The ship has overall
length of 182.72 meters and length between perpendiculars of 175.00
meters. The beam of Stolt Sagaland is 32.00 meters and the depth
is 15.60 meters. While the ship is fully loaded the draft reaches
11.85 meters. The vessel Stols Sagaland is among the largest chemical
tankers of the world, and this can be easily seen by her measurements.
The ship has cargo capacity for 44,500 cubic meters, divided into
39 cargo tanks. The ship has notation for 1A1 Tanker Chemicals ESP
/ Oil Products E0 CCO VCS-2 HL(1.5) TMON, which means that this
vessel is ceritifed for all kind of chemicals and this is typical
for the highest rated companies.
The vessel is pretty large and the technical equipment is very reliable.
Also the machinery of the vessels is pretty strong to give high
power of the ship with low fuel consumption.  The
main engines are two MAN Diesel 7S50MC-C and the power, which are
giving to the ship’s propulsion system is enough for Stolt
Sagaland to reach 17 knots maximum speed. The full power of the
main engine of Stolt Sagaland is 11,060 kW and the cruising speed
of the vessel is 15.1 knots. This is pretty high speed for one chemical
tanker and this proves my words that this vessel is new generation
of chemical tankers fleet.
The
cargo tanks are built from highest quality and from highest certificates.
The all 39 tanks are divided into two categories. 24 from all tanks
are made from stainless steel and 15 are coated. This divides the
capacity for very dangerous cargo and not so much dangerous. The
cargo system is from highest quality, because the loading and discharging
of the chemical tanker Stolt Sagaland is made to be fast and very
easy. The ship can be loaded from 39 points, absolutely independent.
This is practically not possible and the ship is loaded from not
more than 3-4 points, but the import rate is higher and this gives
so high production of the vessel. Stolt Sagaland is among the largest
chemical tankers of the world, and also is very dangerous because
not so much chemical tankers are ceritifed by highest danger category.
The measurements of the chemical tanker are big and this ship is
amazing. Stolt Nielsen is among the largest companies of the world,
and chemical fleet of this company is really amazing. Stolt Sagaland
is one of the pearls in the crown of Norwegian Chemical Tanker’s
fleet.
