 One
of the largest car carriers of the world, built ever is the one
called m/v Sunbelt Spirit. The vessel is part of the fleet of the
large company for Ro-Ro Ships - Great American Lines Inc. When the
ships was built in 2002, it was the largest RCC (reefer/car-carrier)
and now is in the most successful and beautiful engineer decisions,
that had even been made. The RCC ships has no ballast voyages, which
is the main reason to be designed such kind of ships. In the one
way RCCs are carrying cars and together with this they may carry
general cargo. This type of ships were too much discussed and I
think that the problem with them were too much and no more ships
from this kind were built, and the ships from this series stayed
unique. The Sunbelt Spirit is vessel designed to carry refrigetrated
goods, which is very hard about engineers to design such kind of
ship with such holds.
The
motorvessel Sunbelt Spirit has a Gross Register Tonnage  of
60,587 m.t and Net Register Tonnage of 23,315 m.t. The overall length
is 212 m and the breadth is 32 m. You may wonder for the height
of the boards, when you see but fully loaded the vessel has a draft
of 9.62 m. Due to the light cargo of the vessel, ones from that
kind are mostly looking like this with height boards and low draft.
The m/v Sunbelt Spirit has a capacity of about 6,190 units of small
cars. Just some kind of vessels are too interesting with their outlooking
and design. That is why we are presenting to you Sunbelt Spirit.
Interesting about secondary cargo that Sunbelt Spirit can carry
is that this is Refrigerated Cargo. Such vessel will need a large
engine and large auxillary equipment, which will give enough power
to the electricity and to the propeller. But engineers had done
everything perfectly and the ship is doing its job.
