Tianluhai
is one of the largest bulk carriers of the large ship-owner Cosco.
The company is taking large part is maritime transport of the world,
and the whole fleet of Chinese company is approximately 550 cargo
ships. The ompany is operating with Container Ships, which department
includes largest containers of the world, just like Cosco Guandzhou,
Cosco Yantian and the series of Cosco America and 5 more sister-ships,
but also the company have some large Bulk Carriers, just like today's
article - Tianluhai. The ship was built in March 2005. The vessel
has a deadweight of 174,398 metric tons and the flag, under which
the bulk carrier is registered is Chinese. Tianluhai has a length
of 289.00 meters and a beam of 45.05 meters. The vessel is very
modern andthe measurements of such bulk carrier are really amazing,
because this sent such ship to the group of Capesize Bulk Carriers.
And this makes the ship really interesting and beautiful. So large
ship is in need of strong and reliable engine, and Mitsubishi created
such engine pretty good for vessel of Cosco. the main engine of
Tianluhai gives enough power to the ship for speed of 15 knots,
while the vessel is cruising and 15.8 knots maximum.
But
all this information is very simple and most related to the engineer
point of view. When one ship is built, and mostly for company like
Cosco, this ship should be reliable and very, very profitable. And
Tianluhai is exactly this, because the fuel consumption is decreased
with 10% with new generation engine, used for newly built bulk carriers
with this size. The ship is even larger than Panamax bulk carriers,
of the same company (Hong Jing for example), but the fuel consumpion
is with more than 4% less, which is giving a high profits for the
company with high freight. Special paint used to cover the steel
is decreasing the water resistance and this gives so high productivity
for the propulsion system. Tianluhai is one very good building of
Chinese ship industry and this is very important for the whole world
of Maritime Transport. This ship is giving a new step in ships development.
