The
newest vessel from the fleet of Ahrenkiel Group is Bow Orelia. The
ship is designed to carry most dangerous cargoes in large values.
The deadweight of Bow Orelia is 19,980 metric tons, which is the
largest chemical tanker in the chemical tankers fleet of the company.
The ship was put on water this year, just some months ago, and is
definitely one of the highest technology vessels built ever. Bow
Orelia has a length of 146 meter and a beam of 24 meters. The draught
of the large chemical tanker is 9.67 meters.
Bow Orelia was built in the famous ship-yard Usuzi Shipyard Co.
Ltd in Japan. This building company is well known in the world as
one of the best and highest quailited yards for building ships.
The work over the new beauty of Ahrenkiel fleet was more than 4
months, which is a too large period for such small vessel. It is
well known that chemical tankers as too small in comparison with
large oil tankers of bulk carriers. The main engine of the ship
Bow Orelia is MAN B&W 6542MC, MCR with whole power of 6,150
kW is 136 rpm. This can give to the vessel speed of 14 knots while
sailing in open sea and maximum speed of 16 knots. The auxillary
diesel generators are Yanmar 6N18AL-SV, which are giving 500 kW
power each. The number of auxillary diesel generators is 3. The
ship has a bow thruster with whole power
of 616 kW. This is making the ship very maneuverable into the ports
and officers should be verry happy to own such good technologies
on board. The cargo system is very good, and allows the ship to
be loaded from unlimited points from the shore and to discharge
cargo from 3 points. The new system allows to the officers to work
more easily with it and it can be seen. The gross tonnage of Bow
Orelia is 11,561 metric tons and the net tonnage is 6,052 metric
tons. The number of tanks is 20, which means that this ship can
carry 20 different cargoes on board. The whole cargo capacity is
22,500 cubic meters.
Ship-owner
and ship builder all know how much dangerous such kind of vessel
can be for usage. That is why, this chemical tanker is designed
as double-hull vessel and the tanks have coatings of steel. The
spillage of cargo will be detected quickly because of the sensors
on the ships plate. Bow Orelia is a new generation vessel
in chemical tankers fleet. This ship is very good and very useful
for the ship-owner and for the officers on board. Bow Orelia is
sailing with high quality fuel RMG 380, which is dropping less dangerous
emissions and is giving a higher power to the vessel. The inert
gas system is enough only to refill the loses of inert gas during
voyages, but do not has any capacity to fill the tanks by itself.
That is not typical for chemical tankers, but often can be met into
