     Eleonora Maersk

Eleonora Maersk  Eleonora Maersk is one of the greatest ships of the world. This is one outfit that is of the world wonders. The ships Eleonora Maersk is a sister-ship of the well known vessel Emma Maersk. The ship is registered in the town Svendborg, in Denmark. Eleonora Maersk has a beam of 56 meters, length of 397 meters and the whole deadweight of the vessel is 109 thousand metric tons. The vessel can carry 11 thousand TEUs in calculation of Maersk Group, but in fact it is even larger than these calculations. When it is fully loaded, according to IMO calculations the ship can carry 13500 TEUs, and the whole deadweight of Eleonora Maersk will be 156 thousand metric tons. Interesting is, that in this way the ship-owner is trying to reduce the danger of over-loading the vessel and this is the main treason to write in the ships books that she can carry only 11 thousand TEUs. Other interesting reason is that stowing of more than 10 thousand containers takes a lot of time and can cause a lot of problems for the officers, while discharging in the port.
It is not so easy to build such large vessel. The shipyard that took the contract for building Eleonora Maersk was Lindo in Denmark. The contract was signed in 2006 and just 1 year and a half after that Eleonora Maersk was put on water. The date that Eleonora Maersk was registered officially was 21st January, 2007. This was good year for Maersk Line and also good year for shipping.
Eleonora Maersk Ship  Eleonora Maersk is not only big vessel. One of the most important requirements of Maersk Group is that their vessel should have enough power to sail with high speed through the water. That is why this ship is equipped with main engine of Wartsila-Sulzer 14RTFLEX96-C, with whole maximum power of 90 thousand KW. The maximum speed that Eleonora Maersk can reach is 27 knots, and the economy crossing speed is about 24 knots. The innovations into the design and technology of the vessel is making this vessel more economy, more optimized, and with less consumption of fuel. Eleonora Maersk is decreasing the yearly comsumption of fuel with more than 1,200 tons per year, with increase of the productivity of more than 1.5 times. This is why Maersk Line is investing so much in new technologies. This company is trying to reduce all standards of more ship-owners, which are making everything for bigger profit, with no idea about future developing of the company. Eleonora Maersk and prove that sailing can be more ecological, more safety and more profitability.
Eleonora Maersk is combinating all good features of one ship, and is making the work of all crew easier. The innovations in lashing equipment are also decreasing the work of the crew while ship is maneuvering. Entering in the port is just a game on the bridge, with the strong bow thrusters which are giving the power of 5,500 KW each. The ships is making maneuvers by itself and even don’t need tugs to go even on the hardest places.
